Dalla frazione Piazzo sopra Piazzatorre (1112 m) il sentiero sale in direzione nord prima, e nord-est poi, percorrendo il vallone che scende dal monte Secco. Giunti ad una baita a quota 1549 m, si sale verso est con alcuni tornanti, e, superato un dosso, si raggiunge la baita di monte Secco (1837 m). In breve si è al passo di Monte Colle (1941 m).
