Now we're descending towards Celles, one of the Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia.
Celles stems from the Latin cella, cell and according to tradition owes it origin to Saint-Hadelin (617-690), originally from Guyenne. After a long journey during which he was for some time accompanied by Saint-Remacle, founder of the abbey of Stavelot, Saint-Hadelin retired to the middle of woods in a cave. There, he was joined by a number of companions attracted by his reputation of saintliness. The cells that his companions built to live in gave their name to the village.
