The Saint Bartholomew chapel, a former castle chapel that was listed in 10.03.1948, was renovated in 1597 by the Lord Philippe de Maillen and furnished and decorated by Father Henri Lebrun who was in charge of the parish for over 50 years. You enter the sanctuary by a small porch that opens onto a rectangular nave, illuminated on either side by two windows. The rather dark ambulatory covers three walls and leads to the sacristy on the right. The prestigious furnishings form a stark contrast with the building’s rather rural and unassuming exterior. The chapel also boasts a beautifully sculpted confessional and pulpit. The main altar and altarpiece both date from the 17th century. The ornate stucco ceiling is covered with rocailles, and intricately entwined leaves and flowers surrounding two medallions representing God the Father and the Holy Lamb.
