Departing from the Espace Nature (Nature Centre). The school was opened in 1822 in former farm buildings, in order to satisfy the authorities' wish to establish municipal schools everywhere.
Teaching took place there for some 160 years. In 1980, the Municipal Council decided unanimously to enter into talks to
acquire a collection of naturalised animals. After hiring staff and completing the work needed to make the premises ready for the collections, the Musée Communal de la Nature (Municipal Nature Museum) was
inaugurated on 12 March 1984. In 2001, the board of governors submitted a dossier as part of the "Phasing out" process, with the aim of promoting the development and requalification of the Espace Nature, as the
latter had been selected by the Walloon Region and the European Rural Development Fund. For info: 32(0)60/45.56.84.
