Point of interest Rochefort - Skassis - Photo

Skassis

Description

On your right, you will see a rather unusual sculpture of a man with a fish head standing on stilts. This sculpture by a local artist, Vinciane Renard, is a reminder of the nickname given to the inhabitants of Lessive: “the Tchabots”. This term of Walloon origin designates the little fish with a flat head, blackish in colour, and about 12 to 15 centimetres long, that are frequently found washed up after a flood.
