The former Château de Bure, successively occasional residence of the abbots and residence for the monks. Nowadays, deeply reworked and become the College of Alzon, one can still see the site of two square towers located at the ends of the old defensive ditch.
The inhabitants of the village were proud of their castle and, indeed, it looked great.
Was this massive house an abbey or a castle? Neither, but rather the villa, adjoining the farm of the monks of Saint Hubert, where the Abbot came to spend part of the summer. From outside it presented itself as a vast quadrilateral surmounted at the four corners of four square towers, finished in cupolas. The inner courtyard was separated in two by a wall. Half of the buildings belonged and still belongs to the farm.
