The majestic building near the old castle wall in Nismes is called "Château Bivort" ("Bivort Castle"). If it hadn't been Simon Bivort who had most of this residence built, this imposing edifice could also have been called "Château de Horne", "de Baillet" or "Château Delhalle", for forgemasters bearing these names also lived in this house. In the absence of male heirs, this property was always passed down from father to daughter. The house thus took on the name of the forgemaster's son-in-law each time.
