In the heart of the village of Finnevaux, stand the ruins of a Romanesque tower erected in the 11th century at the instigation of the abbey of Stavelot on which the village depended (named « Fineval ») in those days. Some insist that these vestiges are those of the Romanesque church dedicated to Saint Clement and that it was built on the ruins of a small feudal castle. In 1900, the parish priest, apparently a practical man, ordered the destruction of the medieval nave in order to use the stones to build the new church. (that you can see a little further down the road).
