On the horizon to the northeast, you will sometimes catch a glimpse of the royal castle of Ciergnon built on the promontory dominating the Lesse valley. This former hunting pavilion, built by Léopold I, was turned into a castle by Léopold II. The castle of the Ardennes became the luxury hotel where the wealthy bourgeoisie held their hunting parties. It is our royal family’s current residence.
