A bit further on, on your left, looms the Town Hall, whose singular architecture makes it unique. Built during a period of economic expansion, it is a very original building. Built in an audacious mélange of ‘Neo’ styles, it boasts an exterior grand staircase, and a smaller flight of steps flanked by a tower reminiscent of the belfries of yesteryear. The shield bears the Walcourt – the Lords of Rochefort during the 12th and 13th centuries - family’s coat of arms. The monument in front of the Town Hall was erected in memory of the victims of the two World Wars.
