This is the Saint-John’s cross (‘Croix Saint-Jean), a stone cross that dates from 1605. ‘Croix Saint-Jean’ is also the name of the neighbourhood and the cross also served as a boundary stone (the stone is drawn on old maps of the area). A long time ago, the cross marked the frontier between the area of Liège and the Grand-Duchy of Luxemburg.
