The villa locally known as the villa ‘de Cunchy’ is hidden away behind the stone wall with an oak door, just opposite the church. Built in 1892, it was the last residence of the Counts of Cunchy, French noblemen that immigrated here in 1789. They were Lords of Villers-sur-Lesse for a century, during which time the area grew quite prosperous.
After a lawsuit opposing them to King Leopold II, disputing of the ownership of Villers (royal property in 1891, it became state property when the king founded the royal donation), the counts left their castle and settled down in this villa. It is still occupied by their descendants today.
