You'll pass close to the village of Dion, that has two sites of great biological interest : the Tienne de Dion (to the west) and the quarry of Champia (to the east).
The Tienne de Dion is located in the Calestienne, not far from the French border. It's a limestone hill one kilometer long dominating the right bank of the Dion-le-Val brook, a tributary of the Houille. A large part of the site is covered by a limestone oak grove. The quarry which is located at the spot known as Champia is mainly interesting for its limestone grasslands that present a typical flora with no less than six different species of orchids.
