Now we're heading back to Rochefort on the RAVel.
The 22km (approx. 13.6 miles) long RAVeL pathway is located on the disused railway line between Jemelle-Houyet, opened in 1880. Merchant trains rode the line until 1978. Subsequently, the railway line was dismantled and joined the magnificent RAVeL and is now a lovely path for pedestrians, cyclists and other vulnerable road users.
Several sections of the RAVeL run alongside the Lesse River, revealing some wonderful spots for an al fresco picnic.
