The ���hermitage” chapel was built on the location of Saint Hadelin’s sepulchre and near the cave in which he withdrew from the world. Up until 1789, the hermits serving the church of Celles lived at the hermitage, which dates from the 14th century. In the middle of the court, a stone statue represents Saint Hadelin with a big beard, a dove on his left shoulder and his staff in his right hand.
