In the past, the village of Belvaux was well-known for its snail farming. This is why the villagers are nicknamed ‘Caracolis’ (Walloon for snails). On the riverbanks, you can see a sculpture of the ‘Caracolis’ sculpted by the local artist Stéphane Renard.
