Proceed now a bit further on along the canal, until you reach the crossing with 'Wollestraat' and 'Eekhoutstraat'. On the opposite side of the canal, on the corner of 'Wollestraat', you can now see a gorgeous mansion in late-gothic style. It dates back to around the year 1500, when it was built for Perez de Malvenda, the consul of the Spanish nation in Bruges at the time.
The building benefitted from a complete restoration, and it currently shelters a food-shop not-to-be-missed by any gourmet interested in typical Bruges and Belgian products: beer, chocolate, biscuits, sweets, jam, etc. From the upper terrace, you can also enjoy a gorgeous view on 'Rozenhoedkaai'.
