The 'Zuidzandstraat' is a well-known shopping street in the centre of Bruges. Here, and in many other commercial streets in the historical heart of the town, you will find many known names and trendy brands (clothes, shoes, fashion, outdoor wear, etc.), but also smaller shops offering products that are much more typical for Bruges (chocolate, jewellery, laceworks, cushions, etc.).
After some 300 m down the street, you reach, on your right-hand side, 'Sint-Salvatorskathedraal' (Saint-Salvator's Cathedral), the oldest parish church in town, where you can find paintings from famous Flemish artists (14th to 18th century), Brussels wall carpets and more other art works.
Somewhat further along the street, again on your right-hand side, you will find 'Simon Stevinplein', a littler square featuring the statue of the famed Flemish-Dutch scientist.
On your left-hand side, after you passed 'St. Salvatorskerk', you can find the elegant (but somewhat hidden!) 'Zilverpand' shopping mall, which links to 'Noordzandstraat', a parallel shopping street.
