De tower of 'Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk' (Church of our Lady) is, together with the one of Bruges Belfry, the most impressive showcase for the building skills of Bruges in the middle ages. It is 115.5 m high and is the second highest church tower entirely built with clay bricks in the world!
'Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk' shelters an outstanding collection of art works as well, such as paintings and decorated graves. The world-renowned 'Madonna with Child' of Michelangelo is without any doubt the jewel of the art works in the church.
'Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk' is open from Monday to Saturday between 9.30 a.m. and 5.00. Besides the church, there is also an art museum.
Proceed now along the narrow footpath on the left-hand side of the church in order to reach 'Bonifaciusbruggetje' (Boniface's Bridge), a very picturesque small bridge crossing a canal.
