It was in 1893, in Petite Hour, a little hamlet of only a few inhabitants, that Louis Marion, the oldest Belgian man ever to have lived, was born! He spent his whole life in Petite Hour and was the first man in Belgium to ever reach this venerable age. Indeed, before him, 6 women had reached the age of 110!
He died at the age of 110 years, 2 months, and 18 days.
Just as Hour la Grande was called Hour la Ville, this hamlet was called Hour le Château (Hour the Castle) before being called Hour la Petite. An actual castle was built on this location somewhere around the 11th century. It was pillaged and ravaged during the 15th century.
