You then arrive at the spot known as "La Saboterie" (literally meaning "The Clog Factory"). In the 20th c., there were over 150 clog-makers in Seloignes, not counting the fleurteuses (women in charge of painting the floral decorations on the clogs), lumberjacks, etc.
The clog-making trade decreased in size with the mechanisation of the clog factory at Villers-la-Tour.
