A small village of around a hundred people, Vaulx maybe owes its existence to the beauty of the site and the Eau Blanche (White Water) that provides it with water, and which led to a forge being opened there. Historically, it was part of the Seigneury of Beaumont along with Virelles. The village has some beautiful farms built from limestone, with some parts dating from the 17th century. The village of Vaulx has 3 centres: Saint-Pierre, Les Quartiers, and Les Neuf Maisons.
