On the ruins of the old church, dating from the sixteenth century and itself built on the ruins of a twelfth-century castle fort, and in the fortified cemetery, there are still three tombstones from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries belonging to the wives of the Nismes forgemasters. Archaeological excavations were conducted on this site for several years.
