If you carry on straight ahead along this path, where motor vehicles are prohibited, you end up in the national forest, through which the "Chemin de Quinze Pieds" path passes. This forest was used up by the Germans in 1917-1918 to supply a large sawmill established on the site that is now the football pitch. There are now some lovely signposted walks in this wood.
