Sivry station, erected in 1882, had a new district built around it. Away from the centre of the village, a new road called Rue de Martinsart connected
the centre of Sivry to the station in a straight line. For many years, a horse-drawn stagecoach took passengers who had alighted at the station to Sivry village centre. There were also plans to connect the centre
of the village by a railway, but these were never realised.
