Berkeley Drive, named after the famous bobelin Berkeley, was created in 1752. Berkeley was responsible for many of the walks on Annette and Lubin's Hill and for creating views from his personal funds. He is honoured on the monument ‘To the Creators of the Spa Walks’ in 7 Hours Park. For twenty years, he worked to beautify Spa, designing promenades and viewpoints and coordinating more than thirty other Bobelins who contributed to these projects. Their intervention was crucial in making Spa the town it is today.
