The Pirosson quarry, although not exploited since the early 20th century, offers a magnificent view over Spa. It is the largest quarry and has provided stone for many local buildings. In the 19th century, contractors used stone from this quarry for construction, as evidenced by the accounts of G.J. Forgeur in 1808. There are many small quarries in the region, as it was common practice to quarry materials close to roadworks.
