Here is one of five washtubes in the village. It is fed by a stream that runs through the village. It's main purpose is to rinse the laundry already washed.
Washing, which consumed only a few buckets of water, was taking place in homes or their laundries, when they had one.
Washerwomen were coming here for flushing that required large amounts of clean water, and to share the latest news from the village.
Other washtubes have several basins, the upstream basin was to flush, those downstream for washing or used as a watering place.
