This unusual sand quarry is aesthetically interesting because of the different colours of the sand surrounding the pond. It lies next to a larger sand quarry that was closed down a few years ago. Because the sandy milieu is quite rare in the area it is an important place of refuge for hymenoptera aculeata (bees, wasps, ants...) . Also, the midwife toad reproduces here and the pond hosts an important population of viviparous lizards as well as a variety of odanata (dragonflies and damselflies).
Strictly no entrance.
