The chapel is dedicated to Our Lady of the Poor. It was built by the inhabitants of Grupont according to the plans of Mr. Emile EHLEN, architect of Awans-Aywaille. Originally, a mural representing the appearance of the Virgin of Banneux had been painted by a Carmelite of Rochefort on the back wall. Stained-glass windows dedicated to the Virgin, allow the light to penetrate under the arch that shelters the Virgin of Banneux.
To get there, take the road that goes up to Belair to Grupont, just after the railway bridge. Go past the Croisettes and the chapel is there, set back on the road.
Until 1998, a Mass was celebrated there every September. Today, it is a halt of prayer or rest for the inhabitants as for the walkers.
