One house on Rue de Scourmont is worth a look. Above the main door, you can read the date "1728" and an emblem of the Abbey of St Michel (St Michael). A house on
Rue des Juifs (village centre) dates from the same period and has the same emblem on one of its ceilings. These two houses were probably the two oldest
houses in Bourlers and point to the presence of the monks from the Abbey of Saint Michael.
