Hotel de ville

Description

Il a été édifié sur l'emplacement de sept anciennes maisons. Il fut construit entre 1864 et 1873 sur les plans de l'architecte Bouvrie.

La façade et le perron monumental ont été réalisés en pierre de taille granitique d'Ecaussine.

Jusqu'en 1926, il était flanqué d'un impressionnant escalier frontal qui fut remplacé par un escalier à double volée.
